Al-Maktoum College of Higher Education celebrates graduation of 27th multiculturalism programme

The 2019 Academic Training Programme, ATP, at Al-Maktoum College of Higher Education for the 63 female students from the United Arab Emirates, Egypt and Malaysia concluded with a special graduation ceremony on Friday, 22nd February 2019

The 27th ATP group undertook a study programme on topics, including Multiculturalism, Globalisation, Leadership and Management

The Academic Training programme was established back in 2003 and is designed to broaden students’ academic horizons, preparing them for future careers within international leadership and managerial positions. Over the course of 4 weeks, students attended lecturers and seminars within the College, on topics related to multiculturalism, leadership and international politics

The graduation ceremony was attended by Sulaiman Hamid Almazroui, UAE Ambassador to UK; Ian Borthwick, Dundee’s Lord Provost; Mirza Al-Sayegh, Chairman of the College Board; Dr. Tayeb A Kamali, Director General for Education & Training Development at the UAE Ministry of Interior; Bjorn Kjerfve, Chancellor of American University of Sharjah; and representatives of the 14 participating universities

Addressing the audience, Mirza Al-Sayegh, Chairman of the College Board, said since it was established back in 2003, the ATP saw the graduation of 1,300 overseas students, reflecting the success story of the college.

Dr Abi Abubaker, acting Head of College, thanked the patron of the college, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Minister of Finance, for his support.
