Commercial Bank of Dubai and Samsung launch the first Digital Samsung Pay Gift Card

Commercial Bank of Dubai (CBD), one of the leading banks in the UAE has entered into a strategic partnership with Samsung to be a pioneer in issuing the region’s first virtual Samsung Pay gift card.  The Samsung Pay Gift Card, a MasterCard virtual card, can be added on the Samsung Pay digital wallet and used for any retail transaction where Samsung Pay is accepted.

Samsung Pay Gift Card is a proprietary program of Samsung and is offered by Samsung to customers purchasing certain Samsung Galaxy devices, which they can use instantly upon card activation.

Amit Malhotra, General Manager – Personal Banking Group at Commercial Bank of Dubai, said: “We are pleased to partner with Samsung on this exciting initiative as it reinforces our commitment to provide innovative digital financial solutions to our customers. The Samsung Pay Gift Card program will provide card holders with a convenient, secure and reliable method of payment at any outlet which accepts Samsung Pay globally.”

He added: “This initiative is also in line with CBD’s vision to become ‘default digital’ and facilitate the region’s shift to a cashless future. Aligned with this focus, CBD plans to further utilize cutting-edge technologies to enhance its cashless payment offerings”.
