Dar Al Ber: International Day of Charity is an opportunity for giving and goodness

On the ‘International Day of Charity’, Dar Al Ber Society affirmed the importance of humanitarian work and the importance of charitable projects in alleviating the suffering of the afflicted, providing the needs of the poor and meeting the requirements of those with low income.
It also plays a role in promoting sustainability, prosperity, and supporting community development towards a more coherent and harmonious society. Charity also contributes to promote kindness, tolerance, spreading love and togetherness, as well as working to spread happiness among the people of the world.
It also embodies social solidarity and national cohesion, which led the UAE to the forefront of world countries as the largest donor in the field of humanitarian aid for many years, in relation to the size of the national income.
Khalfan Khalifa Al Mazrouei, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dar Al Ber, said on the occasion of the International Day of Charity, which falls on the 5th of September every year, “This day is an opportunity to shed light on the importance of charitable work that the UAE offers to the world,” highlighting that Dar Al Ber, during the first and second quarters of this year implemented and accomplished humanitarian projects in 32 countries, in which the society works in cooperation with 42 specialized and accredited bodies abroad, as it received donations for 18,174 thousand projects, with total costs amounting to 62,402,754 million dirhams, which were all charitable and humanitarian projects.
These include projects as well as, mosque construction and maintenance projects, Islamic awareness projects, water projects, medical projects, charitable endowment projects, support for productive families, and urgent relief.
In light of the role that the society plays in development and humanity in the UAE and the world, realising and implementing the country’s strategies, policies and vision of its wise leadership in the fields of charitable and humanitarian work and achieving sustainability in it.
The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dar Al Ber indicated that the society sponsored 37,065 orphans inside and outside the country, 450 families of orphans outside the country, and 41 people of determination (special needs) inside the UAE, at a cost of 26,498,732 million dirhams during the first and second quarters of this year.
Locally, Dar Al Ber provided via its branches throughout the country from the beginning of the current year to the end of august (2020), local aid amounting to 42,901,495 million dirhams, from which 4,706 beneficiaries benefited. This aid was in the form of medical treatment, education, housing, and other expenses that contributed to reducing the suffering of those in need.
The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dar Al Ber called on the people of goodness and philanthropists to contribute to charitable and humanitarian projects and initiatives which are supervised by Dar Al Ber in order to serve the needy and alleviate their suffering in various parts of the world.
