Dubai Holding achieved new milestones in philanthropic giving and social contribution during Ramadan. To celebrate the spirit of generosity and togetherness in the Holy Month, the Group organised a number of initiatives which benefitted over 125,000 people from various communities across Dubai

Reflecting on the Year of Zayed and to commemorate the auspicious month of Ramadan, we wanted to strengthen our commitment to the values of giving and sharing”
He added: “Our Ramadan Drive has been Dubai Holding’s largest ever social campaign to date, a hugely positive collective effort of companies across the Group to make a big impact on our wider community. Our collaboration with Ministry of Community Development, Emirates Red Crescent,Dubai Police, Unilever and Better Life, contributes to our ambition to support the Government’s efforts to boost the happiness and welfare of UAE’s citizens and residents. I would like to especially thank them for their support, and all the volunteers who participated with enthusiasm and helped make our initiatives a great success.”
Masaai Al Khair
Dubai Holding launched ‘Masaai Al Khair’, an AED 10 million community development initiative in partnership with the Ministry of Community Development and Dubai Municipality. This is a unique public-private partnership targeted to social security beneficiaries and low-income families in Dubai that will provide home maintenance and renovation support
Iftar Meals and Volunteering
Dubai Holding partnered with the Emirates Red Crescent to organise a large-scale Ramadan Tent in Muhaisnah 4, which hosted more than 30,000 underprivileged people, as many as 1,000 people received free Iftar meals on a daily basis
Dubai Holding also organised special volunteering days for its employees and the wider community in collaboration with UAE volunteers, inviting them to come and participate in setting up the meals, and avail the opportunity to give back to society. Amongst the volunteers was HE Hessa Buhumaid, Minister of Community Development, who joined Dubai Holding employees as a special guest on the first day. In addition to the participating Dubai Holding companies, Global Village made a notable contribution, providing 700 additional Iftar boxes
In collaboration with Dubai Police, Dubai Industrial Park hosted a 6km-long Iftar table in Jebel Ali, providing 18,500 Iftar meals. This initiative involved 200 hours of preparation and participation of more than 35 restaurants and 500 volunteers from various government departments in Dubai
TECOM Group participated in distributing over 65,000 complimentary Iftar meals to workers in its Business Parks and other sites. Arab Media Group provided 23,000 Iftar boxes to workers across different venues, including Global Village, mosques and labour camps, City Walk, and Union Coop branches. Dubai Properties provided Iftar meals to their staff at five accommodation locations
Charity Campaigns
Dubai Retail, across its destinations including Bay Avenue, Bay Square, JBR, partnered with Unilever for their annual clothes collection campaign ‘Share a Touch of love This Ramadan’ in aid of Emirates Red Crescent, and with BookHero, for their book stand in JBR selling affordably priced pre-owned and new books in English and Arabic
Dubai Properties joined hands with Better Life to supply complimentary refrigerators to its communities, while Jumeirah Group also launched a number of initiatives: Madinat Jumeirah Resort distributed charity boxes across its hotels to collect donations of clothing, toys and food , and employees at Burj Al Arab Jumeirah participated in “Raise Rice Campaign”, in aid of Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Humanitarian & Charity
Opening of new mosques
Dubai Properties announced the opening of three new mosques in its residential communities, including Al Khail Gate, Shurooq Midriff and Ghoroob Mirdiff. All three mosques collectively hold up to 2,000 worshippers
Over the years Dubai Holding has built strategic partnerships and initiatives, including Al Jalila Foundation as the official beneficiary of all its wellness activities and events; Dubai Cares for the “Adopt a School programme”; and blood donation drives across its offices, destinations and hotels in partnership with Dubai Blood Donation Centre
