Expo Centre Sharjah showcases Emirate’s leading exhibition sector experience at WTM 2022

The Expo Centre Sharjah continues its successful participation in the World Travel Market (WTM) 2022, one of the largest and biggest travel and tourism events in the world, currently taking place in London from November 7 to 9.

A high-level delegation led by the Sharjah Commerce & Tourism Development Authority is taking part in the event as part of its strategic plans aimed at strengthening the role of the exhibition industry in promoting business and leisure tourism.

While attending the event, Expo Centre Sharjah showcased Sharjah’s leading position being a major player in the global exhibition industry and regional and international business tourism.

The delegation, led by HE Saif Al Midfa, CEO of the Expo Centre Sharjah, highlighted the latest developments in Sharjah’s exhibition industry as well as the most significant regional and global economic and cultural events organized by the centre all year round.

The delegation held expanded meetings with the participants to discuss ways to improve the prospects for joint work in order to enhance the recovery and sustainability of the travel and tourism sector through the promotion of the exhibition and conference sectors.

The Expo delegation highlighted Sharjah’s state-of-the-art infrastructure and integrated experiences, as well as its diverse economic components, which make it a preferred destination for major international exhibitions and conferences. Moreover, they highlighted the incentives made available to exhibitors and potential participants in the events to be organized by the Expo Center Sharjah.

HE Saif Al Midfa stressed that the exhibition and conference industry is an essential pillar supporting the Emirate’s tourism sector, adding that Sharjah boasts great experience in this field as it is famous for organizing many regional and international events and conferences that attract thousands of visitors, companies, and businessmen.

He stressed that the Expo Centre is always keen to participate in the WTM in cooperation with government entities in Sharjah to highlight the Emirate’s leading experience in the field of exhibition and conference industry, which is backed by Sharjah’s resilient economy, strong infrastructure, and large tourism projects.
