Ministry of Community Development organizes the (50th) Mass Wedding for 50 young men in Abu Dhabi

Held in Emirates Palace, coinciding with the Year of 50th, and Supported by Al Masaood

Coinciding with the celebrations and initiatives of the Year of 50th, the Ministry of Community Development (MOCD) organized a mass wedding for 50 young Emirati grooms sponsored by Al Masaood Group. The mass wedding was held at the Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi, in the presence of Excellency Nasser Ismail, Assistant Undersecretary of Social Welfare Affairs at the MOCD, Excellency. Masaood Ahmed Al Masaood, the Chairman of the Al Masaood Group Board of Directors, Excellency Ahmed Rahma Al Masaood, Vice Chairman of Al Masaood Group Board of Directors, Mr. Ahmed Salmeen, Chief Executive of Government Affairs of Al Masaood Group, as well as a number of officials and relatives of the grooms.

This mass wedding comes within the framework of the Ministry’s vision to embody social responsibility and consolidate effective community partnership with all parties, especially the private sector, in order to support the organization of mass wedding for young people getting married, which interprets the keenness to encourage the marriage of Emirati men to Emirati women and this is one of the important objectives emphasized by mass weddings.

On this occasion; H.E. Nasser Ismail congratulated the young people participating in this mass wedding, wishing them happiness and success in forming new families, taking care of them, and protecting their families’ structures, existence and stability.

His Excellency valued Al Masaood Group’s initiative to organize this mass wedding, its keenness to strengthen community partnership, and its active role in promoting social development in the UAE and preserving the stability of the Emirati family by sponsoring this mass wedding.

His Excellency said that the Ministry of Community Development is keen to organize more mass weddings annually all over the Emirates, in a manner that embodies the values ​​of solidarity and the principles established by the Late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan (may Allah have mercy upon him), supports the vision of the leadership and the government to form a stable family in a cohesive society, and ensures a better wellbeing for all, especially young men that are forming new families. His Excellency stressed the importance of partnership and cooperation to support mass weddings that the Ministry endeavors to organize and encourage the participation in the same for their pivotal role in supporting the stability, cohesion and coherence of the family.

On its part, H.E. Masaood Ahmed Al Masaood, the Chairman of the Al Masaood Group Board of Directors, said, “We are honored to be in the lead of the supporters of this mass wedding held for 50 UAE man and women in Abu Dhabi. This type of mass weddings supports the process of building a country that has been at the forefront of all nations. His Excellency said that organizing the mass wedding for 50 grooms is in line with our Country’s approach to reduce the burdens of marriage on our youth who remain loyal to the Emirati fine traditions, by strengthening family cohesion and society coherence, believing in the importance of the family as the basic building block for building a cohesive, mutually supportive and integrated society that is full of happiness and prosperity. We are looking forward to being part of the national efforts in support of mass weddings that are in conformity with the directives of the wise leadership that provide young people with the means that guarantee the formation of stable families, representing the basic building block for building a cohesive social fabric, loyal to its fine traditions. This type of weddings embodies the spirit of solidarity, unity and brotherhood, while urging the citizens to celebrate the essence of marriage away from extravagance and waste, in a friendly and convivial atmosphere.”

On its part, Mr. Ahmed Salmeen, Chief Executive of Government Affairs of Al Masood Group, affirmed the support of Al Masaood Group to organize the mass wedding for 50 emeriti young men, which reflects our commitment to community partnership and national responsibility in order to promote the idea of mass weddings, given the importance of its role in reducing the financial costs incurred by young people at the beginning of their marriage, and facilitating the formation of a new family that is able to settle and live happily. He added that the contribution to support mass weddings reflects the principles of cooperation and tolerance in the society, and enhances loyalty and belonging to the Country.

It must be noted that the Ministry of Community Development is keen to hold, annually, mass weddings all over the emirates and regions of the UAE as a confirmation of the approach and experience of mass wedding in the United Arab Emirates. This is considered a national phenomenon model that upholds and promotes the principles and unique inherent traditions of the society, and contributes to reducing marriage costs for the sake of building stable families that are able to contribute to the social development of the country in various fields. The Ministry also urges the UAE community, including private sectors, institutions, and individuals, to support mass weddings that will enhance and achieve stability and happiness of the Emirati family.
