Dubai Business School at the University of Dubai has worked with DP World and Dubai Customs to launch a scholarship programme aimed at providing job security for male and female graduates at two of the most influential organisations in Dubai’s trade and logistics sector.
The 100% scholarships are tailored for students enrolling in Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and Master of Business Administration (MBA) programmes, and designed exclusively for Emiratis.
Through industry-oriented programmes at Dubai Business School, the students will gain a comprehensive understanding of business administration, international trade, logistics, and supply chain management — critical areas for the sustained growth of Dubai’s economy. The initiative aligns with the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, which aims to double the size of Dubai’s economy over the next decade and position it as one of the top global economic hubs.
The BBA programme, which starts in September 2024, will provide students with unparalleled access to industry experts, practical training, and potential internships with DP World and Dubai Customs. This hands-on experience, combined with the academic rigor of Dubai Business School, ensures that graduates are well-prepared to contribute to the success of Dubai’s economy and beyond.
Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Group Chairman and CEO of DP World, said: “DP World has grown from a local port operator to an end-to-end logistics services provider, with operations in more than 78 countries. We are committed to supporting the growth of Dubai and the UAE by fostering the development of young Emirati professionals. This partnership reflects our dedication to education, innovation, and the sustainable economic development of our country as it grows and evolve over the coming years”.
Dr. Abdulla Mohammed Busenad, Director General of Dubai Customs, added: “As we align with Dubai’s ambitious D33 vision, this agreement represents a strategic commitment to nurturing local talent. This scholarship programme is an investment in the future of Dubai, ensuring that our Emirati youth are equipped with the skills and knowledge to lead the way.”
Dr. Eesa Bastaki, President of the University of Dubai, said: “The signing of this MoU is a testament to our commitment to empowering Emirati youth and contributing to the UAE’s vision for sustainable economic development. We are proud to partner with Dubai Customs and DP World to offer this scholarship programme, which will provide Emiratis with both the education and career opportunities they need to succeed.”
