Al Habtoor Polo Resort and Club is proud to host a female led polo event – the Ladies Challenge Cup 2020 in association with Pink Caravan.

Two exhibition matches are organized to take part in the efforts of raising breast cancer awareness by bringing together the strength of women in the Sport of Kings. Pink Caravan’s Medical Mobile Unit will be providing complimentary breast cancer examinations throughout the afternoon and the Club has prepared a variety of activities, competitions for guests with great prizes to be won. There will also be a Ladies Polo Auction featuring rare polo collectibles, beautiful jewellery, and unique pieces of art, giving guests of the day a chance to take home a piece of this memorable event.

Dr Sawsan Al Madhi, Director General of FOCP and Head of the Pink Caravan’s Medical and Awareness Committee said: “We are at a defining moment, especially in the fight against breast cancer, as the UAE’s National Health Agenda forges ahead to reduce cancer deaths from 99 to 64.2 per 100,000 population by 2021. Every member of the UAE community must know that 98 percent breast cancer cases can be treated and cured if detected early. The knowledge, thus, that early detection saves lives is at the heart of Pink Caravan’s year-round advocacy and medical activities.”

She added: “To lower the burden of breast cancer on UAE, we need to fully mobilise the entire cancer community and see strong leadership from our partners in the private, public and non-profit sectors. We are, therefore, pleased to partner with Al Habtoor Polo Resort and Club for the Ladies Challenge Cup 2020. Being on this community platform will enable us to educate women, their partners and their families about the prevention and risk factors of breast cancer, ways to detect it early and nip it in the bud through the right treatment.”

Mohammed Al Habtoor, Vice Chairman and CEO of Al Habtoor Group says, “We’re delighted to be organizing this event – the Ladies Challenge Cup 2020 – this Friday in association with Pink Caravan as part of our efforts to help raise awareness about a disease that impacts women everywhere around the world. We are committed, through sports, to support many worthy causes throughout the year, and by coming together with the country’s finest female polo players, partners, staff and guest, we are able to support this worthy issue in our own way.”
