– 10, As part of its AED 10 million commitment towards Dubai Cares which was announced in 2017, Lulu Group International, the fastest growing UAE-based retail chain, handed over a donation cheque of AED 1 million in support of Dubai Cares’ global education programs. The cheque handover was made by Yusuff Ali M.A. Chairman & Managing Director of LuLu Group International to Tariq Al Gurg, Chief Executive Officer at Dubai Cares on the sidelines of the inauguration of the new Lulu Hypermarket in Al Warqa, Dubai.
Yusuff Ali M.A. also updated Tariq Al Gurg on the progress of the Point of Sale (POS) fundraising initiative that is running across all of LuLu Group International’s Hypermarkets in the UAE during the holy month of Ramadan. The initiative which is in partnership with Dubai Cares, sees customers invited to donate AED 1 or more at checkout, towards Dubai Cares’ Water, Sanitation & Hygiene in Schools programs in developing countries. These essential programs aim to provide basic low-cost water and sanitation infrastructure that is essential for a healthy, hygienic and safe learning environment.
