Dubai, United Arab Emirates

Over 60 male fitness fanatics from across the Gulf region gathered at Dubai’s latest wellness destination, Max & Aegle, took part in an exhilarating two-day team functional fitness challenge, MEMAC (Middle East Max & Aegle Championship).
The initiative was the brainchild of Dubai Police Lieutenant and fitness influencer, Bader Al Noori who began a similar initiative last year, largely focused on his work colleagues, and who was subsequently inundated with people from across the Gulf region wanting to participate. This year’s event saw 20 teams of three people compete to win a cash prize, with every contender eligible for a host of Max & Aegle gifts.
The challenge was held outdoors over two evenings at the 500,000 sq. ft facility in Meydan and involved five individual work-out sessions focused on lifting, endurance, swimming, organization and team work.
Big Chest team was awarded as the overall winners followed by Dubai Police and MOJ in second and third place respectivel.
Bader Al Noori commented: “This has been a really inspirational event which has motivated people to train during the Ramadan period, and maintain their optimum health, while competing in a fun and sociable way. My vision is to make this an annual event, attracting more participants from across the Gulf region – hence my decision to host it at Max & Aegle, a new, unique and exciting venue with a massive capacity, and which will become its official home.”
Trevor Flowers, Head of Fitness & Programs at Max & Aegle commented: “As a relative newcomer to the UAE fitness market, we were delighted to host this original and dynamic fitness challenge and we have worked closely with Bader to perfect a recipe which we know resonates with fitness enthusiasts far and wide. We look forward to hosting MEMAC again in the future and being closely associated with its positivity and team-focused aspiration.”
A solely female version of the Championship took place at Max & Aegle on the 24th and 25th of May, which entailed the same format and was open to women from all walks of life who love to challenge their fitness levels.
