HPD’s 8th “My Health Conference” attracts high-profile speakers and healthcare leaders

The 8th “My Health Conference”, organized by the Health Promotion Department, HPD, at the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah will bring together more than 23 high-profile speakers, including Arab and foreign doctors, as well as healthcare leaders locally, regionally, and globally.
Patronized by Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher Bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah and Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah, the conference will run from 24 – 26 November, under the theme “A Healthy Environment for Children & Adolescents”.
The three-day event includes a fully loaded agenda with keynote speeches and panel discussions to be presented by an elite of healthcare leaders, including His Excellency Dr. Hussein Abdel Rahman Al-Rand, Undersecretary of the Ministry’s Health Assistant Sector, Health Centers and Clinics, Dr. Dalia Samhouri, The Director of the Emergency Preparedness Program and International Health Regulations at the Regional Office of the World Health Organization, Her Excellency Dr. Muhadditha Al Hashimi, Chairperson of the Sharjah Private Education Authority (SPEA), Dr. Khalid Saeed Regional Advisor for Mental Health and Substance Abuse, Dr. Hesham Hammouda, Assistant Professor, Harvard University, and Dr. Ibtihal Fadel, Chairperson of the Eastern Mediterranean NCD Alliance.
Topics for in-depth discussions include the internationally approved experiences in the safe return to schools amid Covid-19; physical and nutritional health of children and adolescents; mental health challenges during Covid-19; the psychological impact of distance learning and social distancing; preparedness for emergencies; negative manifestations in the school environment and ways of combating them; and prevention of infectious diseases in schools.
Furthermore, the conference will be featuring specific workshops, led by facilitators from Internews, on the role of media in enhancing the states’ efforts in curbing the repercussions of the pandemic.
Her Excellency Iman Rashid Saif, Director, Health Promotion Department, pointed to the importance of the conference an important scientific forum for discussing the latest health issues and medical research at the international level and exploring innovative solutions to health challenges.
She pointed out that the conference brings together an outstanding set of doctors and experts in various medical fields, in addition to most prominent health organizations, making it a global platform for showcasing successful health experiences, exchanging medical knowledge and information, as well as staying informed about the latest medical research and studies.
